For information on our curriculum see here: https://www.twinoaks.lewisham.sch.uk/Learning/Curriculum/
Destination Reader:
This term we will be reading Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We focus on 7 key reading skills - clarifying, predicting, questioning, making links, summarising, inferring and evaluating.

English:
This term in English, we will be focusing on The Last Bear. Using this text as inspiration, children will plan and write their own narrative based on the story. Throughout the term, they will develop key narrative skills, including creating a clear sequence of events, building descriptive detail, and establishing a narrator and characters. They will also focus on character development, plot structure, and using rich language to engage the reader.

Science:

This term in science, we will be focusing on electricity. Children will identify common appliances that use electricity and understand the importance of electrical safety. Throughout the unit, they will explore how electricity works by building simple series circuits using components such as batteries, wires, bulbs, and switches. Children will investigate how switches open and close a circuit, observe patterns in bulb brightness, and begin to recognise the difference between conductors like metals, plastic and wood.
