Destination Reader:
This term we will be reading The Land of Roar.
We focus on 7 key reading skills - clarifying, predicting, questioning, making links, summarising, inferring and evaluating.
English:
This term in English, children will be developing their writing skills through narrative work. They will explore the text Clean Up by Nathan Bryon. Using this as inspiration, they will plan and write their own narratives, developing their ability to structure a story with a clear sequence of events, descriptive detail, and engaging characters.
Science:
This term in Science, children will continue to learn about Living Things and their Habitats. They will explore how living things can be grouped in a variety of ways, including using simple classification keys to help identify and name different organisms.
Pupils will learn to recognise that environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things. They will also explore different habitats and consider how animals are adapted to suit their environment.
History:
This term in history, children will learn about the Tudors. Children will learn about important Tudor monarchs such as King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I, and discover what life was like during Tudor times. They will explore Tudor homes, food, clothing, schools and entertainment, as well as finding out about significant events that shaped British history.
