Monday 22nd September 2025: Lewisham meeting for parents at The Civic Suite in Catford

This is an informal event for parents to ask questions about the admissions process and to meet staff, parents and students from our secondary schools.

Parents can book a place at one of the school talks, to understand the application process. This will help you to be aware of the timetable and closing date for submitting their application. Each session will start with a short presentation about the process, and a Q&A with our Admissions team.

The school talks will commence at:

1) 5pm - 5.45pm
2) 6pm - 6.45pm
3) 7pm - 7.45pm

After each school talk, parents will have the opportunity to meet a representative from each Lewisham secondary school and also members of the SEN and Free School Meals Teams to find out more about them and ask questions. The school uniform shops will also be in attendance.

Parents are asked to leave their children at home for this event if they are able to do so, as spaces are limited and we want to let as many parents as possible have the opportunity to attend.

Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Most children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities can get the support they need at local mainstream schools.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan, you need to follow a different process when applying for a secondary school place. Grammar schools

Lewisham does not have any grammar schools. If you are looking at a grammar school for your child they need to be registered to take the test usually before the end of May while they are in Year 5.

INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY APTITUDE TEST

City of London Academy specialises in Business and Enterprise, also known as Information Technology. Prospective students can complete an online Information and Technology Aptitude Test that evaluates their aptitude for Information Technology.

CoLA Southwark allocates up to 24 places (10 per cent of the cohort) each year through this test.
